Chiropractic
Chiropractic is a health care system that focuses on the structure of the body. Maintaining proper body structure can help the body function well. In addition, the science of chiropractic is founded on the principle that the body has an inherent ability to stay well. We try to enhance that ability by optimizing the body’s structure, especially at the spine and extremities.

Because chiropractic treatments are primarily applied to the spinal region, many individuals incorrectly assume that chiropractors treat only back and neck ailments. While we do eliminate back and neck pain quickly and effectively, our objective is restore and optimize human health.

Our highly trained chiropractors are skilled in many diverse methods.

Physical Therapy
Our physical therapists are highly skilled in the areas of orthopedic rehabilitation and sports medicine injuries. Treating patients of all ages, we utilize the latest modalities such as electrical muscle stimulation, ultrasound, heat and ice therapy and therapeutic exercise.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture works by stimulating or repressing the autonomic nervous system in various ways. There is evidence that stimulation of the skin can affect internal organs by means of nerve reflex pathways. One theory is that acupuncture stimulates the release of natural pain-relieving chemicals called endorphins. Another is that it stimulates the pituitary gland, which in turn stimulates the adrenal gland to release anti-inflammatory chemicals.

Acupuncture and Electro-acupuncture are used for the treatment of many ailments, including headaches, neck pain, migraines, nausea, osteoarthritis of the knee, asthma, symptoms of fibromyalgia, insomnia, smoking cessation, drug addiction and irritable bowel syndrome.

Massage Therapy
Our licensed massage therapists are trained in providing Swedish, deep tissue and sports massage techniques.

Deep tissue massage is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscular tissue. The aim is to release chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the affected areas. When muscles are stressed, they block oxygen and nutrients, leading to inflammation that builds up toxins in the muscular tissue. Because many toxins are released during a deep tissue massage, it is important to drink plenty of water after a deep tissue massage.

Neuromuscular Re-education (NMR) with Jay Zemliak is also offered at Trillium Sports Medicine. This is intense movement-based soft tissue bodywork aimed at promoting increased flexibility and range of motion.

Posture Improvement

Dr. Spagnoli, now known as “The Posture Doctor,” utilizes a specific program targeted to improve posture and function.

The human body craves alignment. When we are properly aligned, our bones and muscles support our weight, reducing effort and strain. With proper posture, we feel healthier and look younger. Scientifically, with proper posture, the body experiences improved lung capacity among other organ functions. Our patients who have participated in Dr. Spagnoli’s Posture Power program have noticeably improved posture and walk with confidence and grace.

Laser Therapy
Our practice is among the first in the area to invest in the LCT-1000 Deep Tissue Therapy Laser from LiteCure, LLC. Drug-free pain relief is the goal for most of us. Now we can offer you a non-surgical option that truly has the power to eliminate of significantly reduce your pain. Five to 10 brief treatments with this powerful laser is all it takes to realize life-changing results. The LCT-1000 works by flooding the tissue with photons, energizing the damaged cells and increasing circulation to the painful area. This produces a cascade of healing responses in your body, reducing inflammation, thereby reducing or even eliminating your pain. Treatments take a few minutes and there is no discomfort. This non-invasive therapy has shown long-lasting results.

Family Medicine
We are fortunate to have family medicine services in our office with Dr. Melanie Willis, DO. Annual, school and athletic physicals can be performed right in our office. Dr. Willis is able to provide strep and mono tests, B12 shots, Pap tests, Urinalysis and STD screenings as well as address most other family medicine concerns.

Nutrition and Weight Loss
We carry a full line of Metagenics products and are experienced in providing nutritional counseling and weight loss programs.
